Guest guest
I'm noticing today that my internal chatter has settled down to the point that food is just another subject that flows through my brain. I'm contrasting that with two other times: 1. on the very-low-calorie-diet that " works " -- all I thought about on that diet was when I could eat again and what I could eat, and how nice it was to feel like I was in control., and 2. in a bout of emotional eating -- no matter how much I eat of anything, I simply cannot get satisfaction and I just keep eating and eating to try to get it. Today, with the knowledge that I can eat whatever I want when I am hungry, I am noticing that I have so much more brain space and emotional energy because I am not waging this internal raging battle with myself. I see this as the step I am on -- not particularly the " next " step in some perfect list of steps, and not particularly the " best " step to move me forward without ever losing a step or two. It's just where I am today.

Guest guest
Sounds like a very good 'place' to be on your IE journey - today or any time :-) Isn't peace with food lovely (and delightfully surprising too). Wonderful post - thanks for reminder about food as simply food. Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > I'm noticing today that my internal chatter has settled down to the point that food is just another subject that flows through my brain. Guest guest
That is wonderfully encouraging that you no longer think of food all the time. I remember being on a low-cal diet, optifast, sitting in a boat with my husband and kids while they were having fried chicken and I was having my glass of optifast. I ate one bite of chicken, don't know how I did it, but I can still remember that scenario clearly and still taste that bite of chicken. It was over ten years ago! I can also identify with the lack of ever getting satisfaction from emotional eating. I can never get enough of what I'm not hungry for! Thank you for sharing...I feel hopeful now that food will take it's place in my internal chatter rather than dominating it. > > I'm noticing today that my internal chatter has settled down to the point that food is just another subject that flows through my brain.
