Guest guest
Hi, Tomi. was diagnosed with loose ligaments when she was 10 mo old. She stopped wearing the brace just before her 1st birthday when she was walking full time. Her knees hyper-extend, her fingers and wrists are very flexible (bending back toward her forearm) etc. Dr. Ponseti told us that we still face a risk of relapse, however, if that happened, it would be easier to deal with than potential problems resulting from wearing the brace. The loose ligaments cause the foot to take to the over-correction much better than in the " normal " clubfoot kids with rigid/tighter ligaments. That's the way I understand it anyway. 's been out of the brace for a year and a half now and we haven't had any problems. Hope this helps, & 3-16-00 left clubfoot > Here is our latest update for those of you who are interested. > Recap & Update: > Little Wayne born 3/31/01 bilateral clubfoot, treated 9 days old with a > non-Ponseti Doctor, full length casts, changed every 7 to 10 days.
