Guest guest
I just fell. On New Year's Eve no less. And NO, it *wasn't* the bubbly, not with one bottle shared between 3 people... I am ok, Robbin saw the shiner and said "Mommy, how come you have make-up on only one side/" so I said no, honey, it isn't make-up. Mommy did a boo-boo... And when I came home, it was to chaos of a sort! Apparently me friend Russ (who lives nearby, nothing intense, just a friend) had popped by to see me, and OMG! I wasn't HOME!!! So he alerted my neighbor, who called, no answer (I had *told* both of them that I was hoping to see Robbin this weekend...duh...) so THEY take it upon themselves to call 911!!!!!!! Who arrived, looked under the door (there is a gap I could crawl through) and saw the wheels of the chair...but they couldn't see further, so they broke in!!!! Thank the powers that be they jimmied the lock and did not break the door...my cat was freaking when I got home, no surprise there...they saw I was not home and when one of the officers said "Could she be visiting someone" their collective brain cell kicked in and OH YEAH, she was going to see her son! So all is well, everyone is comforted that I am, indeed, ok and home and safe...and I kinda have this warm, fuzzy feeling because people care... ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ -- Re: Plans for New Year's Eve? Guest guest
Yes, I am finding bruises all over, even have a doozy between the thumb and forefinger of one hand...and my eye looks like bad make-up...and hurts! Guest guest
See.. you do have friends.. and isn't it great that they were alarmed enough to call 911??? If they get no answer round here.. they just blow it off.. course I don't live alone.. and eventually would notice that I'm non-responsive.. Now I will have to add.. that my son, Earl.. will call on my cell phone immediately after going into voice mail on the regular phone... not so sure it's that he's worried that he got no answer (since the phone is usually beside me).. so much as he needs me to come into Runescape and either sell him something, or loan him something.. or help him with something.. LOL.. But he does call the cell.... Unfortunately, " normal " people don't realize just how lonely the life of a shut-in can be.. actually " I " never realized how lonely a life being shut-in can be.. I do have you guys.. which is great... but watching the neighbors come and go and never even glancing my direction.. and I think even forgets sometimes that he's the only " human " contact I really have... He had to hit the bank & grocery store yesterday.. and said to me.. " I really don't want to go alone. " ... and I think I told him to suck it up.. that the only way it was going to get done was IF he went alone.. there's NO WAY he's getting the car into the yard far enough for me to get to it.. and there's no way in Hades that I'm making it out to the end of the yard in ALL that snow with my walker... Oh yeah.. got the chair.. but there's no sidewalk or ramp to run it on and it's NOT going in all that snow either.. LOL.. I know that one of the gals that I used to work with mentioned something about some local church doing things like building the ramps and walkways for persons like me.. Just not sure how to go about asking for it to be done.. Neighbor lady, the night we brought the chair home, mentioned something about getting me her phone number.. in case something happened that I needed help quickly... the phone number hasn't appeared as of yet... Makes one feel " special " .. it does... Well, the good thing is that come summer.. IF I can motivate enough (shouldn't be too hard.. or too much whining involved).. to get that little wedge thing built at the front door.. and then I can get the chair out onto the porch.. provided I can get him to clear the porch of all the stored stuff.. LOL HUGS |)onna Akiba wrote: > > > I just fell. On New Year's Eve no less. Guest guest
It was nice that they worried, kinda cute...I'll make SURE next time to let them know that I will be gone, thought about calling just to make sure but it was before noon when I left and has been known to sleep in, so I didn't. Won't make that "mistake" again! I met her son yesterday, he is 11, just a bit younger then Robbin, and a sweetie. He has been with his dad, I have been encouraging her to get him back (especially since she HAS full custody) and I think he might be wanting to "come home" to her. That would be great, especially when I get Robbin, he will have a "built-in" friend. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ --* Re: Plans for New Year's Eve?>> >>>> >> FREE Animations for your email - by IncrediMail!
