Lemons are wonderful for the liver and a great detoxer.Lemons, Lime, Pineapple, Pears, Kale, Asparagus, Carrots, Celery, Apples (Golden Delicious are very low in phenols which is great for our kids), ginger, endive (chicory), cabbage (only a little don't juice an entire one!), parsley, mint dandelion greens (use little, very bitter), blueberries, cranberries, lettuces, fennel (one of my favs). -- and I always tell my husband when he goes to purchase produce, if it looks good, buy it, we can juice it. If you are going to juice citrus, you will want some "base" foods too (so it doesn't take a 'sharp' taste) So, some good ones to start: You will find as you juice you will start eating the 'fruits' and juice the veggies. My kids love green drinks now. I usually use a pear or an apple, but the other day, they had carrots/celery/kale, and were like "MORE!"Pineapple, lemon, ginger, pears, a couple sprigs of parsley, and kale. This one is full of wonderful enzymes, anti-inflamatory, blood purifiers, chlorophyll, and chock full of nutrition. If your little one is fearful of new things - pears/blueberry is very soft on the pallet. I also love carrots/apples. Carrots and apples is said to detox aluminum, and it's also a staple juicer drink in the Gerson Therapy (Curing Cancer therapy) -- Can't go wrong with that...I use MMS to kill bugs. Also, you should use organically grown fruits and veggies, pesticides have to be washed off, but they get inside the fruit/veg too (because when it rains it falls into the soil to be sucked up by the root system). However, you can use regular clorox (old fashioned clorox) -- (Directions from The Ultimate Healing System, By LePore, pg. 354, paragraph 2 (under "Cranberry Juice) 1/2 tsp of Clorox to every quart of water, soak for 20 minutes, then remove and place in clear fresh water for another 30 min to remove clorox.:)laura>> Hello Dear Group,> > I got my juicer yesterday and I already love it. Guest guest
wow laura, thank you so much. i really needed this direction. I made pineapple juice and kale today. i was shocked how much juice I got from them. I mixed it 1 tbs kale with the pineapple and took them outside to run around and be thirsty. they drank it three times today and loved it. I guess it is a good start. I feel very motivated. reading all the goodness in those veggies i know it will make a big impact on my son. Thank you so much for all the help. Guest guest
glad you asked those questions, Tunde! I had the same questions. We try to stay low/med oxalate, so kale is out, but I am planning to try cabbage juice mixed with other fruits. My kids both loved the fresh apple juice we made, and my hubby goes nuts for grapefruit juice. I just bought my juicer over the weekend and I love it. I'm finding that fresh orange and apple juice is wayyyyy more expensive than store bought, and due to time we can only juice on my days off or weekends. But I'm hoping also to sneak in veggies for my kids, who eat only peas and the occassional broccoli. Looking forwards to more yummy recipes here! Guest guest
Bok choy was pretty good, arugala is spicy, romaine makes a good juice too. Pink grapefruit juice is kinda medium high so just wanted to let you know. Â glad you asked those questions, Tunde! Guest guest
thanks Toni! My hubby and I are the only once who like the grapefruit, and we both handle high oxalates well. Kids won't touch it. I'll try bok choy and arugala. What else should I try for veggies? My kids eat any fruit, so not worried there. thanks! Guest guest
LOL! I use about 1/2 cup of each the aminos and the ACV, a few cloves of garlic, about an inch of cut ginger and about 1/2 cup of cut pineapple. It is really good. I have put it on chicken too, but I prefer steak. In the summer, I use this several nights a week.
