Ellie, it sounds like you have gifted yourself a very merry IE season - yippee!

And all the best to you in the coming year too.

spouses, 3 of the grandkids, my mother. I am looking forward to it; our son and

his girlfriend are both great cooks, and so am I (contributing some of the

dishes.) I'm planning to eat what I want and not worry about it. If I gain a

couple pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's, so what? Who doesn't?

....and that really is a big difference. Everyone gains those couple of pounds,

but the restricters are thinking about food every moment of the day and the

IEers are just enjoying it. I applaud that attitude.

I actually haven't even been overeating this holiday. I made a most wonderful

dinner with stuffed Cornish game hens for a Christmas eve dinner, and didn't

overeat at all. And I haven't been inclined to eat hardly any goodies either.

I bought bags of Hersheys kisses for stockings, including the candy cane ones

that I thought I would surely eat a gazillion of if I had them in the house, and

I think I only ate four of them, and that was yesterday. I'm finding it truly

miraculous to be around all this food that I used to feel so out of control

around, and not have a problem. It convinces me that legalizing really truly is

the way to go. Last week I bought more pecans to make another pecan pie to have

on hand, but never felt the need to actually make it, there are butterscotch and

white chips in the freezer to make cookies with, but I've neither made the

cookies, nor eaten more than a couple chips, there's the last couple pieces of

gingerbread on the counter that I'll probably end up throwing away, and the

christmas cookies a friend dropped by that I nibbled the corner of one. THEY'D

would call all of those things GOOD, but they just haven't been what I've felt

like eating at any given time. Miracle of miracles, truly.....

Merry Christmas to everyone.
