This is fabulous news, I think:

On November 12 2009 I found out I have an RT3 issue. I had been taking 100 mcg.

levoxyl plus 5 mcg. cytomel.

I stopped taking levoxyl and slowly increased cytomel from 5 mcg and now am up

to 40 mcg.

(I'm also taking cortef. (I started on Fludrocortisone and potassium about a

week and a half ago, so will retest electolytes next week)

These are my labs for 11/04/09

WBC: 3.4 (4.0-10.5)

RBC: 3.87 (3.8-5.1)

glucose: 78 (65-99)

creatinine:.81 (.57-1.0)

Bun: 13 (5-26)

sodium: 139

potassium: 3.8

AST: 18

ALT: 15

phosphorus: 3.4 (2.5-4.5)

Iron binding cap. 276

UIBC: 181

ANA negative (I've had thyroid cancer, and my ANA has been elevated until now)

estradiol: 22

TSH: 5.4 (.45-4.5)

LDH: 140 (100-250)

T3: 68 (83-200)

magnesium: 2.0 (1.6-2.6)

RT3: 429 (90-350)

cortisol, 9 a.m.: 10.7

ACTH,plasma: 11

platelets; 165

New labs: 12/24/09, fasting as well

WBC: 5.1 Hurray!

RBC: 3.76 (3.8-5.1) :(

RDW: 15.4 (11.7-15.0) Dunno what this means

platelets: 144 (140-415) Dunno why this went down

glucose: 86 (hurray, an improvement)

bun: 11

creatinine: .64 (.57-1.0) better than Nov. labs

ANA negative, hurray

T4 free, direct: .07 (.82-1.77)

DHEA-S: 6.6

DHEA-S in Sept '09: 27

T4: 0.6 (4.5-12.0) seems to correspond with the free t4

T3: 108 (83-200)

T3, free, serum: 2.5 (2.0-4.4)

sed rate: 4

magnesium, serum: 1.9 (1.6-2.6) this has gone down from 11/09

ferritin: 15 :(

And now for the punchline:

RT3: <17 (90-350)

So from 11/12/09 until 1/4/10 my RT3 problem has entirely disappeared!

Should I try armour/erfa? Or stay on the cytomel?

I have an appt. with the ND this week and want to know whether to give armour a

trial. My pharmacist claims he has the old armour in stock, in all dosages. He

says he stocked up when the shortage came up.

Thanks!
