Guest guest
It scares me because their immune systems are already weak at this point where we're addressing gut issues. To introduce strep at this point is just scary to me, now that I know what it can do. NT kids can get PANDAS, too. If I see no symptoms that they would react to strep, I may introduce a probiotic with it when they get older and their systems become stronger. Right now, because I think my child may have contracted a virus from their newborn vaccine indicates to me that their immune systems are atypical. I don't know in what exact ways they differ from typical immune systems, so I'm just not prepared to do it. But, then, again, I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to biomed. Start small and start slow is how I approach a lot of things and strep is just too scary for me. Sorry, Sophie, I didn't mean to freak you out either but strep scares the crap outta me.  Yes....I know little about pandas. but SOMEitmes, tics(facial), throat clearing tics, and ocd can be signs. If your kiddo tends to get super severe behaviors when exposed to strep, that's also a good sign. Some pandas kids are completely normal, free of symptoms, until a strep flair. Then there will be trantrums and self injury and autistic-like behaviors. It's hard to catch in tests - I think there are very particular tests you must take within two weeks of an exposure. I also think it's more difficult to pinpoint in autistic kids where certain behaviors are already present.      Check out pandas.net. There's loads of info there. I didn't mean to freak you out.  For some reason, I was under the impression that pandas was suspected in your kiddo....    If there are no signs, symptoms, or reasons to worry, strep strains would be fine. I, personally, avoid them. Because I cant say with 100% certainty the cause of my kiddo's symptoms, I play it safe  : )  -tammy To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Tue, March 8, 2011 11:55:50 AMSubject: Re: More Hand Flapping & Stimming??  Hi Tammy, once again thank you so much for your info, you really have been a marvelous help. Im really sorry but I dont know what PANDAS is but I have all of my sons pathology results with me, so is there anything that I can look for that may show if he may react to strep?
