Guest guest
A very smart lady told me that the journal/food log should be like having a conversation with a beloved friend. I've been logging on/off for 2 years, not very carefully or completely, but it's very powerful to look over it and discern patterns. (Again, Geneen Roth comes to mind: " just observe, no judgment, be curious, make inquiry.. " ) One thing I learned is that when I write regularly, I eat less. ha! When I write my food in the evening, I can let go of the obsessive thinking/guilt/fear, etc. Also, I use colors, draw pictures, use graphic organizers, etc. in my journal and food log, it makes it less stressful and more of a working tool, owned by me Writing, " its OK, happy face " next to an emotional eating experience is so helpful for me.
