Guest guest
Awwwwww! A love like that with your pets is something beautiful. Girlscout is one lucky dog and you are one lucky lady! A while back I hired an animal psychic for something and became convinced that there's something to it. Since then when I'm away I make a point every day to visualize my cats strongly and talk to them in my mind. It helps me - I hope it helps them too Maybe you could give it a try? > > Girlscout isn't my real name. Ha ha, I bet you are shocked. It is however, > my dog's real name. She is my baby. Guest guest
I will do the visualizing thing and I bet you she will respond. I just finished packing and she tried to climb in my luggage. AGGH. Tears. Her breed is extremly tough (she's a type of terrier). And they are known for being adaptable. They have no problem bonding with new owners and leaving their FOO's for their forever homes. In other words, I think this is going to be much harder on me than it will be on her. Ugh. Boyfriend promised she can come with me to the airport. i'm also having a little anxiety over being so far from my T. But leaving Scout is so so so hard. We are going on another trip for boyfriend's birthday just as soon as I get home, but she gets to come along on that trip. OMG, I'm having a hard time breathing. And I'm laughing at myself because I know its over leaving my baby. . . Really, I should just take her with me. Is 17 lbs too big to go on the airplane? She flew before but that was when she was a baby. And she got gas on the plane HA HA HA she was so quite no one knew she was there but their was a strange stench coming from under my seat. Guest guest
I just sent my T an e-mail cuz of the panic attack. She might not respond today but she always gets back to me. She will understand because she knows and loves my little girlscout. In fact, next time I travel if boyfriend comes with, T offered to babysit Scoutie. Not many people I can leave her with because she has a handful of terrier proclivities like running away and trying to eat yorkies and dachsunds. Its her favorite thing to do, you should see the smile on her face when she finds one she can try to eat. Guest guest
I can relate--I buried my beloved boy last summer. He went with me to work most days and vacationed with me. He and I both recovered from illness together, he was the only one there for me during so many bad times with nada. There were times in my marriage I was ready to chuck to hubby but never my boy. Often I was sure he and I read each other's minds! My daughter accused me of loving the dog more than her. I told her that my dog never talked back, never got mad at me, and thought everything I did was just wonderful. How can any kid from a BPD ask for a better relationship than that? I hope you and Girlscout are together for many, many years! > > Girlscout isn't my real name. Ha ha, I bet you are shocked. It is however, > my dog's real name. She is my baby. Guest guest
That`s an awesome name for a dog! Anyways, I find it hard to leave my pets because they tend to be supportive regardless of the scenario, whereas people can be fickle. Could you take something with you that is also a comfort like a particular stuffed animal or something? Would you be able to take a picture of her or something of hers to bring her presence with you without bringing her? Would this possibly upset you further? When I'm away from my pets, I'll call and make someone put me on speaker phone in order to talk to them (the pet not the people) and then someone describes their reaction or I can hear them dancing around. Hope I have helped, goodluck. CR. > > Girlscout isn't my real name. Ha ha, I bet you are shocked. It is however, > my dog's real name. She is my baby. Guest guest
I'm very much an animal person and before Christmas I was working as a dog bather. Guest guest
Aww! You'll be ok! And girlscout will be ok too! So many of us here have such a love for our animal friends, I don't think you're the crazy dog lady at all hehe. Maybe it is a KO trait? We show compassion for our pets because we never got any? I don't know. I also joke with my fiance that I will likely be the crazy cat lady when I get old. I love doggies too, but I'm more of a kitty person ;-) I can't have any here though because his brothers are allergic to both cats & dogs =( When I was married I had pets, and I always got really sad & nervous about leaving them with whomever was sitting. I guess for me it was because they were my family too! And I felt weird going on vacation or whatever without them. They were always well taken care of and happy to see me when I got back =) Now I have a hamster... and he hates me LOL. I used to have a mouse... Bob was HER name lol. Had her for a year and a half & she passed =( I miss her. But I got this hamster, Domo is his name... I can't get him used to me no matter what I do. I keep trying but he's super hyper & afraid of me. Oh well... I'll love him & take care of him anyway and keep hoping that one day he'll figure it out that I'm not going to hurt him. Mia - who is apparently the crazy hamster lady? lol. On Sat, Jan 29, 2011 at 4:42 PM, Girlscout Cowboy < girlscout.cowboy@...> wrote: > > > Girlscout isn't my real name. Ha ha, I bet you are shocked. Guest guest
Guest guest
GSC I just had to put my little Shadow down last Thursday. She was 15. I m still grieving that loss. But, BP or no, we love our pets. We get very protective of them. You ARE nuts, but that has nothing to do with missing your dog! If you select a good kennel, she will do just fine.
