Blood pressure going far too high

Hi Val

I am struggling with the T3 and extra steroid that I need. I have felt a bit

better in the mornings recently, but basal temp hasn't moved up still at 36.1.

By the late morning or early afternoon I keep getting far too high bp readings,

today it was horrendous something like 185/132 cos I had been standing, pulse

87. I have also had horrible vascular migraines for the past 3 days which I

think are related to this high bp. I have to take 20 mg propananol to bring the

bp down but it rises again later in the afternoon if I take anymore T3.

The last few days I have taken 12.5mg T3 on waking at 6 am together with

2.5Pred. When I get up around 8am I take 2.5mg h/c and I also took 6.2 T3.

Temperature dropped to 36 at 10.30 even though I was just resting. Temp still

36.1 after lunch but had that high bp at 11.50 but had been perfect in the

morning up to then. At 1.30 I took 2 mg Pred cos of the low temp plus 6.2 T3

but the migraine was quite nasty. After taking a pain meds for the migraine I

slept for 20 minutes but didn't feel much better.

Later in the afternoon bp still too high at 162/96 pulse 82 and this would be

with the betablocker still working somewhat. I took another 20mg Propananol and

went for a short walk with the dog which helped my head slightly.

My blood sugar is dropping very quickly when I do anything physical. Hoewver

there have been some benefits from the T3 only in that my sleep is miles better,

I feel much calmer at night and going to bed which I am very grateful for cos I

used to get horrendous racing thumping heart going to bed which gave me severe

adrenaline attacks.

Also my skin is much softer and not so dry and my eczema is improving. It had

been a problem the past 6 weeks since the crash in October. Finally my

digestion is better, I seem to be making more stomach acid which is good because

I just didn't used to make hardly any.

My highest temperature the past few weeks has been 36.4 but most of the time is

around 36.3. I will have been on T3 only for 3 weeks tomorrow and obviously I

cannot tolerate more than 25 - 31 mcg I guess cos of probable low ferriten and

such weak adrenals but cannot tolerate more than 25mg equivalent h/c cos of the

high bp I get from it.

Can you suggest any different schedules and amounts for taking the T3 when one

is having problems tolerating it? It does seem strange I am having so many

problems cos my T4 was only 7 in November way below range and I didn't ever take

more than 1 grain dessicated daily often it was less and none for almost 3

weeks.

Thanks

Pam
