I am laughing and crying at the same time over all of the " voice " threads and

this is another really good thread. I can not get over how we have all had the

same experiences. Fada has the victim voice " can I please have just a little

glass of water " My bi-polar son went nuts one time and said " no! you have to

have a big glass of water " There is no comparison between a bi-polar who takes

his meds and strives to be well and a BPD who wallows in their mental illness

and enjoys every minute of it.

Fada has the " you done me wrong voice " I was going out of town for a two day

training and I left him beautiful fresh tomatoes among a lot of other things for

his meals and he managed to somehow shout through clenched teeth " one of the

tomatoes has a bad spot on it " It was an indentation left from the stem it

wasn't even discolored.

There is the backhanded compliment voice " This is a good meal " stress on the

this as if I've served him bad food on all other meals.

There is the " who will do ____________ for me? " voice.

There is the I'm a victim everything bad happens to me voice.

I love you guys! I'm so glad you brought up voices. I thought I was the only one

who wanted to scream when a Fada or Nada opens their mouth.

My stepmom has the nasty condescending voice.  I can duplicate it fairly well,

but it's hard to do in an email situation.   You can't get the inflection

right.

Janet

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own

understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

Proverbs 3:5-8

AGGGHHHH! My Nada has the baby voice which makes me want to peel my own skin

off, AND she has the talking through clenched teeth voice, which she uses if you

don't hear her the first time and ask her to repeat herself.

The baby voice makes me so angry---you're not a baby for christ's sake! You're a

67 year old woman!!! And the clenched teeth voice is so EMBARASSING because

she'll do it to complete strangers and its just RUDE. She acts like if you don't

hear her then you're deliberately ignoring her or disrespecting her or

something. I don't know what her problem is.

Her voice in general gives me the heebee jeebies.

My nada does the clenched teeth version........very mad-dog-like. The

clenched teeth, spitting, firey eyes; very frightening. Fada ignors it (as

usual). He'll actually say he doesn't know what you're talking about. Nada

pulls out the " baby voice " if you call her on the " clenched teeth face " in

front of anyone......I could puke.
