Guest guest
I've just been re-reading the IE book's section on making peace with food; especially the effects of restrained eating. It's interesting that I marked this page when I originally read it, but I don't remember any of it. The part that jumped out at me today was giving oneself " pseudo permission " to eat certain foods. I know that's what I was hooked into over the Holidays with chocolates and that stinkin' (but equally delicious) fudge. I like the part that says something to the effect, " ...your mouth may be chewing, but your mind is still on a diet " . Guess it's time to read some more. Nonetheless, I'm breathing a big old sigh of relief that the Holidays are over and rather than vowing to start a new diet, I can look forward to an even easier time next year as I will be learning more and more about how to take care of myself around food, feelings and hunger.
