Guest guest
I would def see about the ear infection. Did your son have the hep B vaccine at birth? That virus loves the ear and eye so maybe it is coming out. I know phosphatidylcholine helped my daughter in that area somewhat, she was wearing hearing aides and now she doesn't but does have some oversensitive issues w/ hearing occasionally. If you're son doesn't have a big issue w/ soy that may be a good option just to see if it helps. Don't stop and start on the antivirals though, you dont want any crazy mutations. Good luck! > > Hi my son has been on Valtrex, since October for the second time. (the first time was in 06 for a short time) We have noticed in the last two weeks complaints of ear pain but this week has been the worst. We have a doctor's apptmt tomorrow, but he started screaming on Thursday night uncontrollably. I gave motrin and ear drops, he calmed and 3 hrs later the same thing. So I thought maybe ear infection and cold, but the next day he said his ears were fine, but would not let me touch them. I called the doctor and he said watch and call back in the morning, Saturday. So I stopped Valtrex this weekend ( fr. and Sat), since his breathing was labored as well, just to give him a break from detox. Over the last 3 months, we have seen, back rashes, bleeding lips and split lips. We had a change from Valtrex to Valacyclovir as well. > He seemed better this weekend so I restarted, Valtrex today and give his normal doses and lo and behold at 1230, he comes out screaming and holding his ears saying he cant take it anymore. What should I do? Is he not a candidate for Valtrex? Cheryl L, or anyone? > thanks > Selena > He has an apptmnt today and I will update you after. >
