The Mayo Clinic here in Glendale, Arizona is going to stop taking Medicare. This is apparently a two year pilot program and doesn't currently affect the hospitals in sdale AZ, FL or in MN. This kind of thing really worries me. My dil works for a surgical practice and has heard of several doctors here in our mountain community that have also stopped taking Medicare patients due to the low payments/reimbursem ents they receive from the government. http://www.business week.com/ news/2009- 12-31/mayo- clinic-in- arizona-to- stop-treating- some-medicare- patients. html Sharonjoin me on Facebook:Sharon Mars wobbletowalk@ yahoo.comThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
So far, I cannot find any actual cuts to Medicare, per se, though IFthe Senate Bill were to pass relatively unaltered (unlikely), then theHouse Bill would rescue Medicare. I pray for them to pull the best of these bills out and come up with an actual passably good billfor the President to enact into law. I write to my Senators and tomy Representatives in Congress all the time, by e-mail from theirsites on line. Can't hurt; might help!Love to you, Sharon, and to all here,nP.S. Down the line the entire administrative costsfor Medicare would be far less if it were not being"pharmed" out to the private sector and a select fewinsurance companies. My pharmacist enlightenedme about why they are pushing "generic" drugs so hard and so fast----a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$! I justhope that the whole financing of Medicare can bere-worked in this decade. People do not realize thatif one's income happens to be over $1654.00 per month, one pays large premiums, huge co-pays and we allpay in federal taxes to run the whole thing. Swedenand Italy, for example, have cheaper and better systems, but then they do tax corporations and the super rich--how is the above for a run-on sentence? Medicare already pays way less than doctors/etc bill. Now the new health care bill says there will be more cuts to Medicare. I know 'they' say the cuts will be made up somewhere else and the docs/hospitals will still be reimbursed but I don't think the health professionals believe that. In the meantime, it's the Medicare recipients who suffer. love Sharonjoin me on Facebook:Sharon Mars wobbletowalk@ yahoo.comThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Thank you, Sharon. Cuts in Medicare, as the wealthy no longercontribute to it, nor do investments, nor do mega-corporations,are unavoidable, but we do not have to Legislate them!Horrors! More tax dollars went in to Medicare under LyndonBaynes , who got Medicare pushed through and SSDI,as well, than do now, despite our population increase. Just Nuts!Love,nTo: MSersLife Sent: Tue, January 5, 2010 7:07:15 PMSubject: Re: Mayo to stop accepting Medicare/ comment from n I sent some links to articles online about the cuts in Medicare.
