Guest guest
Wow, I relate to everything you said. Everything. I mean, every single statement. I never heard anyone else describe that sad feeling. I'm sad when the food is gone b/c I would have liked to eat more, even though I'm more than full. Also, if I recognize I'm full before the food is gone, I'm sad and disappointed to think about stopping because I wanted to eat it.Something that sometimes helps me is thinking about how I take, say, Tylenol. I have a headache. I take a couple Tylenol tablets. After I swallow them I still have the headache. But I don't keep taking more pills until the bottle is empty and then start hitting on the Advil. I took what I needed and know it will take awhile for it to work. This has helped me with food issues. It's not exactly the same, but it's close. I don't have to keep on eating food.... if I stop, I might still want more, but it will settle down after awhile.Hope this makes sense :-)Ellie To: IntuitiveEating_Support Sent: Saturday, November 26, 2011 10:13 AM Subject: Can't seem to do this!! I just can't seem to do this for some reason. I tend to have a very all or nothing attitude. When I'm dieting, I have to do it perfectly or I "fail". When I'm "not dieting", I completely don't diet. I love the IE concept, but I find myself eating everything all of the time. I can't seem to wait until I'm hungry, and I definitely can't stop when I'm full. It's almost like I'm sad when I'm done eating something. However, I don't really enjoy anything I eat. I have been trying to do this for over a year, and have gained quite a bit of weight. I want to do this so badly, but am incredibly discouraged at this point!!
