Guest guest
Well when they are that little they have very tiny stomachs so they have to eat that often :-) He's grow out of that as his tummy grows :-) Michele Wow can this kid eat!! I'm sure this is normal, but I thought I'd ask. Cameats at least once an hour during the day (night is 2-3 hours). How longdoes this last? Is this just to boost my supply or will he eat this oftenall the time? I don't really mind it, but I can see how it will get harderwhen my extra help around the house leaves. Thanks!Love,Mommy to since 10-5-98 and Cameron since 8-10-00jackpot@...http://users.pld.com/jackpot/oneyear/oneyear.htm

Guest guest
, Little Cameron is only a few days old--this is temporary! He is adjusting to the outside world, working to bring in your milk, and possibly seeking a bit of comfort in addition. I would guess that once he has regained his birth weight he will slow down a little bit, but it could take until after he passes three weeks of age. (This is the first big " growth spurt " milestone.) Is he sleepy--nursing for just a few minutes? If he is try switching him from one breast to the other when he slows down to keep him sucking actively. If he nurses for at least 10 minutes (on one breast) now, then he is probably already filling his stomach and just has small capacity right now. I knew that was it, but it's just so comforting to hear people say it! Today was a lot more relaxed and less time eating, so I was glad-but then I also worried that he wasn't getting enough. If it's not one thing it's another!! >Is he sleepy--nursing for just a few minutes? No-he eats 15 min. each breast, pretty steadily with few pauses. He was doing it every hour the last few days and every 2-3 hours today. Thanks again!
