Guest guest
Hi thanks. The whole listening to the body is going to be my challenge. I have been so use to eating in the morning, noon and supper time. How do I go back and read older posts? thanks jackie Re: New member introductionTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Tuesday, August 16, 2011, 2:05 PM Welcome Jackie! I'm with - focusing on who much I 'weigh' never helped me either. I've not only 'gained' a lot of peace - especially with food - since I've taken up IE, but I've come to find a more healthy way of living and loving of the body I have - then, now and in the future too. Please do ask any questions you have about not dieting as a means to becoming more comfortable in and with your body - at ANY 'size' - and if possible read some previous posts here to get an idea about what IE has done for others as well as offers to you.BEST wishes, KatchaIEing since March 2007> >> > (forwarded from email to moderator)> > > > Hi my name is jackie> > I found the group by searching on yahoo under weight loss support. Guest guest
Jackie, on the first page there is a search box to the right of "most recent posts" -- I suggest you type a term in the search box to check out older posts. Guest guest
Jackie, and all members, you can read the older posts by going to this group's site (via Yahoo's Groups) and clicking on Messages in the left column (purple). That will probably take you to a page with the most recent posts. At the top of that page you will find a box where you can put in a earlier post number and at post will appear. There are currently 32000+ archived posts so fish around and read through about 20 or so following the order they were posted (simply click the Next button on yellow bar right side). I think you will find that a lot of what we discuss now is not all that different from what earlier members chatted about . OR Instead of fishing around for a number, use the Search feature to find a topic you are interested in - say weighing, or mindfulness or legalizing etc. One neat feature of Yahoo's messages is that if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the message page you will see an 'outline' for that post as that topic follows a thread of discussion along. (questions, replies etc.) Hope you find some good information! And if you come across a bit of hidden treasure, please feel free to share it with us (again). BEST to you, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > Hi thanks. The whole listening to the body is going to be my challenge. I have been so use to eating in the morning, noon and supper time. Guest guest
(copied over from email from H M Haag, new member) I am a 55 year old woman with type 2 diabetes. I have read Intuitive Eating and am having some success but want more support. I want to get healthier so I can have more fun with friends and family. I weigh 323 and it is not fun to go places and not fit in the chairs at restaurants, movies, on airplanes and not be able to keep up. Guest guest
Welcome! Sounds familiar and similar to my own circumstances. I have been practicing IE since July and it is now the only approach which makes sense to me and which I feel will both relieve me of the obsession and fighting with food, as well as relieve me of the dangerous excess weight. I dropped weight rapidly early on, then regained a bit, then dropped again, then leveled out. Since mid-August, I have been enduring one of the most stressful times in my entire life, yet am 10 pounds lighter than when I started IE during a relative lull the month before. I am not fighting with food or feeling compulsive about it, but am also not currently able to find enough peace and quiet while eating to notice hunger satisfaction signals. What's wonderful is the level of self-acceptance I've reached with my body and the beginnings of trust there. I am seeing that what is most important is tuning in to my body sensations, which tell me not simply when to eat and not eat, but when things are bringing up emotional reactions in me I need to address in non-food ways in order to find peace and joy in life. I feel confident that as the stress level in my household eases, I will be able to resume better self-care and become more aware than I could possibly be currently, and that's okay. I hope you are encouraged by this group and find the support you need here, as I have. Jane > > (copied over from email from H M Haag, new member) > > I am a 55 year old woman with type 2 diabetes.
