Guest guest
This is totally on topic for me. I know that I eat to sublimate the loss of dreams, hope, creative expression, love - all of it. I don't hate my life, but deep down I know that there's another life calling to me that I'm just too stuck to move towards. There's so much out there about embracing the dream. When I hear that though, I often do a sort of internal " whatever " in my head. I used to get so sick of Oprah's shows on people who've made millions baking cookies and how fabulous their lives were. The internal messges are the same as the diet police only they rag on about life overall. I can't even dredge up the content of the messages that play in the background, but I know the gist of them. " Don't take a risk; that's stupid; what are you thinking; you have to play it safe; who do you think you are; what were you thinking?! " Etc. etc. etc. Just this morning as I was getting ready to come to work I heard some guy on the radio with his " Do what you love and the money will follow " message and I just hated him. I did not want to hear that kind of message, just as I was girding my loins to face another day in the trenches. My job isn't terrible, I have a lot of freedom, I finally make decent money... And yet I work in a system that is as much of the problem as any - and I don't feel like I'm making a crumb of difference. I would love to yell from the rooftops about all of the injustices I see. I would just love to. And, I don't believe anyone would want to hear it. So... I know this (IE) is in actually all about reclaiming my life - and I'm sort of tiptoeing around my dreams, my passion from time to time, wondering if I will ever step up. Sandarah > > > > " And I must say I am envious of folks who are working on novels, and who have a sunny studio to paint in..... " > > > > Oh me, too! How divine. Well, all this talk about intuitive exercise got me to really think about what's holding me back. A lot of it is the same old " rules " that I'd previously carried around about food. Just like the idea that one must eat at a certain time and a certain amount, I had the rule that exercise can only be done at certain times. I used to exercise during my lunch break. Lately I have been trying to get out there for a walk once a day. However, I was really having a hard time doing so at noon. Well today it dawned on me that it doesn't have to be at noon. Duh! There are times when I really need a break from work and would love to go for a walk, but previously I had not allowed this because it was at the " wrong " time. Well, today I needed a break at 1:15 and I took it and had a lovely walk to the national sculpture garden. So happy I did it. No struggling with myself. So from now on I will try to move when the spirit hits me. Thanks! > > > > Mimi > > >

Guest guest
I think you will Sandarah. Your passion shows, your ability to achieve and follow thru is evident in your posts and I also think that once the thought is voiced, its out in the open and ready to go. Of course preparation and some good thought before 'launch' will get you further than any (puure) leap of faith ;-) Hope you won't under sell yourself and can indeed fan the spark of that ember that must be glowing within you. I will say that when dear hubby and I quit our good jobs and took off for the 'hills' to give that a try, it was turned out to be the BEST choice we ever made in our lives. Dare to dream as well as dream to DARE. ehugs, Katcha IEing since March 2007 > So... Guest guest
What an amazing topic! And it's so inspiring to hear from folks who are actually living their dreams! I guess I'm somewhere in the middle. I followed my dream to become a healthcare provider, and I LOVE my work. But I hate having bosses! Is there a way to deliver healthcare without bureaucracy? Also, I have a fantasy of working abroad but am not sure I would like the reality. My other fantasy, of becoming a mom (a Single Mother by Choice) recently came true and it's AMAZING!!! I have other dreams... living in a place where I could hike is big! But I guess I've realized enough of my dreams to feel fulfilled... for now?! Best, Abby I think you will Sandarah.
