His mother needs to step up to the plate and take care of her son, and if I foster him I am only enabling her disfunction. It would be only too easy for her to let me take all of the responsibility for him, with her being able to see him every day...she gets the benefit, I do the work, and I wouldn't even get paid (like a regular foster parent would) so I would have to feed him and take care of him out of the little $ I have. Instead, I am going to allow Russ to stay in Robbin's room, for now, with him knowing that the minute I get Robbin back he needs to vamoose. He has offered to pay me $50-60 a week to rent the room. That money would enable me to take care of my bills And have a little left over for incidentals (you know, like TP...). As it is, I owe over $200 in heating, I did get the Liheap grant but it is only for $167 and I already owe more then that, with an extra $50 a week I could turn over the liheap check to them (when I get it) and be able to take care of the rest in cash. Russ will also take care of his own food, and will even fix the damages to the walls my chair has incurred (that is his trade, so he knows how to do it and has the tools he needs), and that would help a lot when the time comes to get my (very large) deposit back. He also said that if/when Mike comes home and I move in with him, he will take over the lease on the apartment. I know if I can offer them another renter they will be much more amenable to releasing me from my lease.
