I'm new to the group and just got finished with going to a wls seminar and have had all the clinicals done, along with my visit to a psychiatrist, exercise physiologist, surgeon, and nutritionist. I haven't set the surgery date yet..still awaiting approval from my insurance, which they said they would pay for all of the hospital to me but the surgeons would be 80% which isn't too shabby I don't think. I have a very wonderful and supportive family..also my friends are also..as a matter of fact my childhood friend and I are going to be doing our surgeries together and are very excited. Hope to chat with all of you real soon Jeni ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Hello All. I'm Sharon. I've been subscribed for a few weeks, but haven't posted as yet. I've dieted since I was 18 or so and am over 50 now. I've had 3 successes but always the weight went back on. With each diet it gets harder to go back to that " hell " way of trying to lose weight. It's like being in prison. And yet the funny thing is: I hold the key to unlock where I'm at and be free. But why don't I don that? One of the reasons is that I'm afraid. I'm afraid that if I trust myself, I'll never be free of the fat. Never drop any pounds. That's so silly, because the diet thinking makes me overeat because I tell myself, that from tomorrow (oh there are so many tomorrows in a week) I'm going to start being " good " . But it doesn't happen does it? I don't know what normal eating is anymore. It's some faraway land that others have found, but I will search for it and never find it. I feel guilty if I eat when I'm not hungry. I feel guilty if I eat " goodies " . I don't know when to start, when to stop, and the whole who, what, when, where of food. I don't seem to hear myself telling me to steady on, slow down, enjoy your food, it's ok, you can eat that, it's alright. Where does one start?
