Guest guest
Hey there, I've just found this forum and having tried searching around (still trying to work out how to read the posts from start to finish) I thought I'd drop in. I've just started doing a program called Diet No More. It's an Australian IE program. (I'm an Aussie). I read Geneen Roth't book years ago and have always know diets don't work for me - but over the years and babies (i have 3 girls) I was too tired to be bothered!! I'm a size 16 and know this is my time to re-arrange my life and priorities to look after myself better. I'm finding my IE journey interesting already. I've dieted many times in my past and also binged. I am very much an emotional eater and turn to food to meet my needs - especially when I'm feeling over stretched. I'm now working on recognising my needs and meeting thing in new and better ways. So far I'm much more aware of my eating and how hungry I am. I love how food tasted when you eat it hungry!! Nothing like it. I'm kind of experimenting with how my body handles things. I find I eat little on day and then more the next. I'm also learning to judge my hunger levels. I've found at time I've let it go to far and then been mega hungry and over eating. It's all a learning curve for me. Anyhoo - that's my story so far. Shall now read back and catch up on some of yours )
Guest guest
Welcome and so lovely to have a new Oz gal here too :-) Sounds like you already have figured out that the IE journey is really a self discovery one. I too started with Geenen Roth, but needed to more options than I got from her suggestions so IE and other non-dieting books came into my life. As far as reading back posts, if you do that at the group site you can use several different options. You can sort the Messages by Topic (though discussion can tend to wander a bit within a Topic [initial subject title]) OR you can read following Individual Posts which can be sorted by date. In the Individual Message mode if you scroll down past the end of the displayed message you will find an outline of the topic that message is part of so you can then read 'back' or onward to more replies. Another option is to use the Advanced Search which you find at top of any Message page. There you can look for a topic or even copy in another member's Yahoo ID so that you can read that person's 'history' of posting. I did that with my own name a bit ago and was delighted by how much I've progressed with my own IE. So if you are impressed with another member's insights, checking out their journey could be informative for you? Glad you have joined us here, BEST wishes!
