Re: Light bulb moment

Sorry Tilley (and others) that I didn't make myself clear which is no surprise

when I remember that what I wanted to say came to me in my sleep, was clear as a

ringing bell then and then got somewhat mangled when I rushed to get it down (on

way out door this AM) before I forgot it.

I wanted to be glib and say that I recently found that I was eating 'from the

neck up' (brain driving the show) often rather than " from the neck down'

(biologically driven) trying to show a 'line' that I had been making where none

really existed. I also forgot to add that the light bulb part was that my IE

battle ground has moved from me vs. them (diets/experts) to me vs. ME?!? But

really its more about me NOT 'fighting' with myself over foods/eating in the

end. A weird mesh of trust and integration that has been as foreign as Chinese

to me after being around dietese for so long, not to mention trying to ignore

that too these days.

Yep, clear as mud - lol Maybe I need to sleep when I sleep? ;-)

directions regarding my eating. Initially that brought up a vision of a battle

between ME and so-called experts who wanted to dictate to me shoulds and oughts

for my eating. This 'line' has served me well in helping me to keep my focus

more IE than diet mentality driven.

desires and drives, I have come to find that I also have a 'line' - within

myself' that I have needed to acknowledge and come to grips with. And that line

is about at my neck ;-) If I eat 'from the neck up' I find that I am taste and

thinking directed (shoulds & oughts). But if I eat 'from the neck down' I am

responding more to what my body (overall, head included!) needs and appreciates.

Its wacky that I have such a division within myself, but there it is and now

that I can 'see' it, I have a better chance of reuniting all of elements that

make up this complicated critter that I am. And eating can be the olive branch

for achieving this too. Wow, another gift from IE - lucky me :-)
