Guest guest
I am not expert enough to comment on your t3 and cortisol (How much cortisol are you on btw?) but I will say that adding testosterone gel to my regimen DID save my marriage! I use 1.5 mg daily in the AM. I think Val likes use of testosterone if it is low, and I believe it almost always is with AF and when you're on HC. Mine wasn't great to begin with and taking HC makes it even lower. So besides libido, it's really good to help maintain bones and other anabolic issues. > > > > I had labs done 1/5 and would just like some input from Nick or Val, or anyone that is further along this trek than I am. I could not afford to do everything that I did nearly a year ago and since I am flying solo, I did what I thought would give me a good overall picture. My saliva cortils a year ago were all on the low side of normal, but when I started on cynomel in June, I didn't do well until I started on HC. I am taking 100 mg cynomel and 25 mg HC daily; each in 4 doses. I went off lipitor about 16 months ago. > > > > I won't list all my labs, just the abnormals and ones I have questions about. Guest guest
SHirley I agree you would do well with testosterone and estrogen too, btu you DO need to test and treat progesterone if oyu are going to take estrogen and stil have a uterus. If you have no uterus, I htink the risk is minimal to take estrogen alone. I think testosterone would help heal your adrenals as it strengthens muscles and supports healthy glucose etabolism which we all need with weak adrenals. I also think a bit more T3 would not hurt a thing but do watch your poulse does not get too high. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
Thank you Val! I will have the progesterone tested on my next round. I just couldn't find a " package " that was affordable and actually included everything I wanted tested. The combo offered for 59.99 included everything I wanted but FT3, Lipids and Testosterone...those 3 bumped the cost over $200. I will shoot for more labs in a couple of weeks. I had CBC, CMP, electrolytes, most of the sex hormones, lipids, TSH, FT4 & FT3. Do you suggest anything other than progesterone? I am still undecided about the leptin test, but that's another group. Again, thank you!! You and this group truly gave me my life back, now I'd like to give my hubby his :-). > > SHirley I agree you would do well with testosterone and estrogen too, > btu you DO need to test and treat progesterone if oyu are going to take > estrogen and stil have a uterus. Guest guest
Thank you! I will be shopping for testosterone gel online! I will have progesterone tested as soon as this artic front moves past us. I take 25 mg. HC daily. I have been on it since May, and would love to wean off, but as soon as I try to reduce, I get the horrid ringing in my ears and irritability. We are dealing with verrrry cold weather right now, so I assume that stress causes an increase in the need for T3 and HC. I truly do appreciate your input. Guest guest
Frustrating!!! There are some testosterone gels and creams offered, but I am assuming from Val's response that I need an Rx, that what is offered is not that strong. I feel very sure that my dear old doc won't go along since my level is within " range " . It's so difficult living in the middle of nowhere!! Finding progressive practioners is not easy. I am hoping to find an online source like every other Rx I buy. I did CBC and BMP, all normal except a couple of liver enzymes.
