Guest guest
Here's one for you - my job is really stressful. I have a lot of work to do and yet most of my time is spent assuaging my micro-managing boss who's always reacting to something. We have a situation at work that has him totally spun and he's in and out of my office all day (not that he isn't most days anyway). At one point, I was groping around frantically for some chocolate (having been struggling to NOT make it forbidden and yet not wanting to eat it). I finally found some and was gnawing off a chunk when I suddenly realized, " I'm stressed! " . What a revelation! LOL. But you know, in the past I would have never known that I was stressed until much later, only that I was eating chocolate. My focus would have been totally in shame and blame and now I feel very different about the incident. And, hopeful that I can make change in my life. Becoming conscious in the moment is such a hard thing to do - it's so bizarre and yet probably so very normal, given the givens. So - maybe next time I'll realize I'm stressed earlier - nah - I'll just stop there and let this be my success story. It is a first for me. I was stressed - and I realized it even though I had a mouth full of a stale LOOK candybar. End of story. Sandarah
