Another Potluck

We are having a birthday potluck today at work. My intention is to only eat if

hungry and only what looks good and not just because its there. I don't even

have to try everything unless I want to. And in case there is nothing I want or

if there is nothing but junk, I am taking some salmon and spinach leftover from

last nights dinner along with some blueberries as a snack. If I don't eat that I

will have it for lunch the next day.

Thanks for letting me state me intention around this potluck. I will let you all

know how it goes.

What a marvelous idea - to post your intentions here. Plus so inspiring and trusting too. I know that I do so much better when I understand my objectives before I do something, but I don't do that with food as much as I do it with 'projects'. Thanks so much for the reminder and nudge too.

Good plan.  Or sometimes I eat before I go right before time for the pot luck to start.  Sandy

 

Good plan!

I am constantly assaulted by potlucks. There is always one every week, and sometimes as many as three in my close community, and I feel like I ALWAYS eat too much. I never thought of bringing along something that I knew I would want to eat. I have been trying to be mo judicious about what I want to eat, and eat that first, like a piece of cheesecake, and not sampling everything, but just having one or two things. That seems to have helped somewhat.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that since I'm highly gluten allergic, I always

bring my own meal to potlucks plus something that I like and can eat as my dish

to offer. And, I'm sure to bring a gf dessert rather than sit in deprivation

and watch others have birthday cake, or whatever. Which is what I did for

years. Deprivation not only sucks, it makes you feel bad about yourself.
