I have a co-worker that is primarily gluten free and she says she too had

reflux/heartburn and it helped her. Definately something to look into. I know I

feel better too when I remain as gluten free as possible.

Sue, wanted to share with you that I had more reflux as I began IE. Initially I

thought it was due to the larger amounts of chocolate I was eating (for

legalizing), but as time passed my concern for potential damage from the reflux

bothers, but I think you can be pleasantly surprised if you are willing to give

a go at play around with different foods to see if you have any negative

reactions that you hadn't noticed before. Do take care to not have this become a

'restriction' thing for you as our diet rebels can rear their ugly little heads

over such a thing. Just be kind and gentle in this and if possible make it into

a FUN 'play with food' experiment.

Gluten also causes reflux for me. It's not severe but I don't have it any other time.

But a thought... can you ask your doctor to work on changing the dose or the medication itself to better address your reflux NOW? No point in putting (more) pressure on losing weight... we all know how well that works! <smile>

Katcha and Alana, thank you so much for responding to my post and

for sharing your experience with gluten and acid reflux. I'll try

cutting back on gluten and see if it helps, and I really like the

idea of "playing" with different foods to see what effect they might

have.
