Guest guest
I have forwarded two events happening in Austin this Sunday. One is a Tea party of the old time sort, the other a lighting of candles to let children in jail know they are remembered at this time. Thank you. I hope several of you find time to participate, but am asking for prayers for the children of immigrants who are being held in the jail in Hutto. Please take some time Sunday night and any night to pray for these children. Thanks, Willow Please participate, and RSVP at the Austin Ron Meetup site, for the Austin Tea Party scheduled for this coming Sunday (Dec. 16) beginning at 3 PM at the front of the Capitol. We have made crates (see attached photo) that we will march down to Town Lake with in order to re-enact the Boston Tea Party by throwing the boxes in the lake (which we will then retrieve). will be dressed as and will speak some of his immortal words about liberty--as well as Ron 's. If you have a historical costume from that era--consider wearing it. The press will be there, I am certain. A reporter has already done an interview and show some footage of the boxes. It is extremely important that we have a good showing for this event. Jerri Jerri Lynn Ward, J.D. Garlo Ward, P.C. 505 E. Don Hutto Family Prison in . This unit is America's first prison operated solely to incarcerate families, including children, who have committed no crime. In other words, it's basically a prettied-up concentration camp - run for profit by the Corrections Corporation of America. For information about the prison itself, watch the 17-minute video at http://video. google.com/ videoplay? docid=8859002931 143491992 For information about the rally, go to http://tdonhutto. blogspot. com/ and look for the blog entry entitled " Vigil at Hutto Prison, December 16. " I spoke to the filmmaker at the County Green Party meeting yesterday, and asked him what good a rally in a small town does. He said that media does sometimes attend these rallies, but mainly the imprisoned families can hear and see the people there, and it helps them to know that they aren't forgotten.
