Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 0 Lean Meat; 1/2 Fat; 1/2 Other Carbohydrates. ************************************************************************ Sorry, I don't know if you could use less eggs or not. I know when you substitute whites for wholes you use the equal number. I also don't know if there is a difference between mazola and canola oils. Mazola was not listed in Mastercook's database and I don't use it. Hope this helps! Maureen need help Would someone please figure the points for me if I use the whole egg? How many eggs do you think it would take? I wouldn't think 8. Do you think it would make a difference if I used mazola oil instead of canola? 1 Point Per Serving 1 cup finely ground walnuts 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 cup sugar 3 Tbs. canola oil 8 egg whites, beaten until stiff with 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 cup powdered sugar Combine nuts, cocoa, sugar, oil. Fold in 1/4 of egg whites. Add rest of egg whites. Spoon batter into non-stick or oiled mini-muffin pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 48. Per mini-cake: 31 calories, 0.8g protein, 1g fat (0.1g saturated), 5g carbohydrates, 0.3g fiber, 33mg sodium. Health plus: Nuts replace flour, giving a health edge in minerals such as magnesium, and good-type monounsaturated fat. Healthful canola oil replaces butter; egg whites replace whole eggs. Guest guest
Hi Inge! I think if you sub mazola for canola it would be fine. However, the eggs are a different story. Since the recipe calls for " 8 egg whites, beaten until stiff " , you could not sub whole eggs and get the same end product. By beating the egg whites, it gives a much lighter type cake. I would stick with the egg whites. |--------+-----------------------> | | ingeoh@...| | | m | | | | | | 07/21/2002 | | | 08:37 PM | | | Please | | | respond to | | | wwliterside | | | | |--------+-----------------------> >-----------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: undisclosed-recipients:; | | cc: (bcc: -C /BRE/AGFA/US/BAYER) | | Subject: need help | >-----------------------------------------------------------| Would someone please figure the points for me if I use the whole egg? Guest guest
I went biking (way cold out there) and although I had sufficient food during and after the ride I'm still wanting to go prowl around the kitchen for more even though I'm totally, completely full. I need encouragement not to overeat. Quick mental count shows I've adequately replaced the calories burned on the bike (I don't normally count, but I'm just checking to see whether I actually need more food, which I don't.) My stomach is telling me "No more!" but I'm still wanting to eat. Tea. Hot tea. I got cold out there. Maybe I need to get warmer, not fuller.Ellie
Guest guest
That wasn't me. Hot tea sounds about right to me too. If your stomach is saying no more, that's one thing, but if it's your mind saying it, then it might be messing with you. If you're really hungry, you might actually need to eat more. I find that my head and body actually have very different ideas....
