I don't pay taxes on my ssdi. But my little pension from my employer qualifies me for a tax refund through a program called earned income credit. Do you know when you will get your first check, Kate? Sharonjoin me on Facebook:Sharon Mars wobbletowalk@...This email is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects. Hey Akiba,Can you fill me in on this 'liheap'? What is it based on? I think my husband probably makes too much to be eligible. Another question: does one pay takes on disability? This is all new to me.love you, Kate my fall> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

They are waiting on my 'designated payee' papers to be received (by them--I filled them and my hub signed them). Then I think the first check will be released. I'm just not sure how much that first check will be.I know it will be retro, but I'm not sure how far back they are going to go. My case manager also wasn't sure. It could be from the last day I worked, which would be a nice, fat check, as I stopped working in June of 2007. Or it could be a small one, as they may go back to only when I applied, which was in August of '09. In either case, I'm much looking forward to 'the surprise' of the first check.blessings and love to you my friend, Kate my fall> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I fell this morning in the laundry room and goobered up my > > > > > > > > > > > right knee. > > > > > > > > > > > That's the knee that already hurts so at least it's not > > > > > > > > > > > something new,> > > > > > > > > > > right? lol Some mild bruising to my knee and my toes on > the > > > > > > > > > > > same side. > > > > > > > > > > > Now my right hand and fingers are hurting a little and are > > > > > > > > > > > stiffening up too> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > The funny thing was when I fell all six dogs were > following > > me > > > > > > > > > > > so closely I> > > > > > > > > > > fell on several of them. Kate,

They go back to the date of disability.. I do believe that would come

from medical records..

If I could remember my filing date.. and the date that they went to as

my " disability date " .. then I could be a bit more accurate.. All I

remember is being diagnosed about Sept 2000.. losing my job in Oct

2001.. and then filing... and them going back to October of some year

for my disability date.. but my retro pay was around 5 grand.. so it

must have been 2000 maybe for the date of disability.. because I filed

and was approved right after the first of the year.. without any hassles

of any kind.. didn't even finish that 9 page questionnaire before being

approved..

Sorry I can't be of more help though

HUGS
