Web site: www.collier.k12..fl.us 1/7/10 NEWS RELEASE - "SPECIAL NEEDS MEETING PLANNED " Parents of Collier County students with special needs are cordially invited to attend an Exceptional Student Education (ESE)/Student Services Community Forum scheduled for Wednesday, January 20 th. The meeting will feature a roundtable discussion regarding the Individual Education Plan (IEP) facilitated process in use in our schools. The conversation will begin with an overview of the services provided by the District, while focusing on the individualized programs that are available and on the ways parents are invited to offer input on the ESE programs and services provided. Parents attending the meeting will gain a better understanding of what IEP meetings are all about, and learn how to make them more meaningful for themselves and more beneficial for their child. The topic will be introduced by Superintendent of Schools Dennis L. . District Counsel Jon Fishbane will then lead the discussion which will involve six panelists: ..
