Guest guest
Hi! My son was there for the Place Program and Kindergarten a few years ago. At that time it was not good. I don' t know how it is now for special needs but a friend of mine, also with a son with autism changed his son to a different school. Probably if you contact some advocates of families they might tell you a better opinion. I am a mom and can be very subjective. Best wishes! We just moved to Sunrise and found out this is our home school. I know it is a cluster school, but basically that's all I know. Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks! Guest guest
We REALLY struggled with Sawgrass in their Pre-K programs (Both Complex Place & Palace) but I have heard good things about the program from K-5. Guest guest
It is my boundary school too but I did not send my son there because in a year and a half I saw 3 ESE specialists go through there. The position seemed like a revolving door. THe new ESE could not answer my questions because they were new. My phone calls were never returned. And I did not get a good feeling in general. Just my opinion... Ida > > Hi! > > My son was there for the Place Program and Kindergarten a few years ago. At that time it was not good. Guest guest
Regarding Sawgrass Elementary, I happen to know one of the teachers. The principal is a bit peculiar. She give the ESE kids a different teacher every year, and tends to lump them all together with a teacher, NO AIDE. I really think her understanding of these kid's needs is sorely lacking. Only parents can change it. They do not listen to faculty feedback, as I have been informed many times from the teachers themselves. However, I must say that there are some great teachers at Sawgrass, in spite of the principal's decision-making.Joi There is nothing like a dream to create the future. - VICTOR HUGO Hotmail: Free, trusted and rich email service.
