Guest guest
Ellie, have you ever thought about posting in your other group how 'tired' you are of the constant, no-win struggle that dieting is? I can't help but wonder if any of those other gals wouldn't chime back with a big YES!?! I wouldn't encourage you to try and promote IE, but I also would think it honest and kind to say that you are finding a more peaceful and gentle way to deal with (social?!?) body issues. But of course you might feel its too early in your own journey to toot any horns. Just a thought. ;-) Katcha IEing since March 2007 > > > > >I've come this far and I'm not in any diet delusions or struggles like my friends. > > I think about this a lot. I'm on an email weight-loss group of a very close-knit group of girlfriends, about 8 of us, since probably 2005. With 2 exceptions, no one has lost any significant amount of weight (I'm one of the exceptions, praise be.) They try and fail, try and fail, lose and gain, lose and gain, swear they're going to re-start logging every bite and planning low-fat menus and snacks and nobody ever gets anywhere, they fall off the wagon after a couple of days and have to re-start yet again, positive that this time they have the motivation that's going to make it work. > > > I've thought about pulling out of the group but.... we're very close, and reading their struggles and delusions and failures helps keep me connected to what I do *not* want to fall back into. I don't post much about my own processes, just cheer when someone drops half a pound and commiserate when they gain it back. > > > Ellie >
