I finished A/C (dose-intensive), along with Taxol in fall of 2004 at 46 years of age.

Almost one year later, during routine EKG, they "thought" I had the signs of either "having had" a heart attack or left ventricle damage. Underwent angiogram in October of this year, which proved to be "unfounded" (thank God). I am ER/PR+ w/ 6 positive nodes out of 26 (all removed), bilateral mastectomy, the chemo I mentioned and 6 weeks of daily radiation.

Now I found out HER2/neu++, so after Echocardiogram, just started Herceptin weekly (for 52 weeks).

I would ask your oncologist about C0q10, which is a supplement for your heart. I just wish alternative medicine would work hand in hand with conventional medicine, so that they can give us the best of BOTH worlds...my cardiologist did mention though, should the Herceptin cause heart complications, there was strong possibility they would "reverse" themselves after treatment is done.

I hope this has helped.

Best,
