Guest guest
Hi Val and Nick I have just checked my last blood test done in November and would be believe my MCHV was just below the bottom of the range which can indicate anaemia, would you believe it. My GP never mentioned it but that could be cos I was so unwell at the time and severely hypothyroid with my free T4 below the reference range, and my WBC count was also very low and it said I had mild neutropenia plus high cholesterol. Of course I guess most of these results were because my thyroid had been underfunctioning for so low but it does explain why I felt the benefit of the 325 mg ferrous sulphate within a couple of days of taking it. I don't know doctors!!! I am seeing him on Wednesday to get the ferritin checked and guess its going to be pretty low. Thanks for bringing the importance of ferriten to my attention. My iron level was 12.9. Pam
