For his gut and. Immune system VSL #3.For anti yeast Saccaromyces boulardii.Ask for a vitamin D level--should be 70-80 (not 30like the lab will say) to prevent future infections.Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerryDate: Thu, 21 Jan 2010 08:36:52 -0800 (PST)To: s List Yahoo Group<deniseslist >Subject: Antibiotics effect Good Morning Everyone, had an ear infection over the weekend and the pediatrician gave him amoxicilin for ten days. I try not to give him antibiotics because this is as you all know not good for his stomach etc. But he was having otitis external and media. His stomach this morning started to feel upset and he still has some more days to go with that antib. What would be an alternative for treatment in this case? Should I not give him antibiotic anymore? What did you do in such a situation? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Fabiola

Call the doctor...maybe they can change the med. Probiotics and fish oil (barleans makes a nice lemonade liquid) maybe able to counter the effects but should check with doctor before doing anything particularly if there is any additional conditions. Use alot of garlic..Don't stop the meds until told so by the doctor. Could make the infection worse. Don't give meds on an empty stomach...no citrus until 1 hr after the med...

I would suggest changing antibiotics. Amoxcilian has been shown to turn to

Formaldehyde in some kids stomachs. My son got stomach ache and diarrehha from

amox. so I just tell Dr.s that both my kids are allergic to it and when the Dr.

prescribe antibiotics they get something else. I would suggest you tell the Dr.

your son is showing a reaction to the Amox.(stomach upset is a reaction) the Dr.

will just give you a new perscription. I have yet to hear of a Dr. refusing to

change the antibiotic. Better safe then sorry
