Guest guest
Hi All: Princess, my cat of 16 years died today. Miki never liked her, would avoid her. I tried to get Miki to say good-bye but she wouldn't pet her for the last time as she lay dying(has only pet her a few times in the 8 yrs they've lived together). When she comes home this afternoon the cat is gone. Last May we lost Miki's "Grandmother", a good friend of mine that lived in Naples and we would go visit for holidays. I haven't take Miki back to Naples because she would tantrum ( I think ) if we didn't see Audra while there. I don't have a clue how to explain any of this to her. She is mostly nonverbal, uses sign, but doesn'r seem to have any apathy for anyone or thing. I'm afraid if she sees me bury the cat she would think it's a game. Any ideas? Jayne, very sad today. Guest guest
When my son was young, I explained that it's like the Lion King..."Circle of Life"; everything living has a beginning and an end. Pretty straightforward, and he was able to "get it". explaining death Hi All: Princess, my cat of 16 years died today. Miki never liked her, would avoid her. Guest guest
I showed my boys the YouTube video " I'm Sure Gonna Miss You Mr. Hooper " from Sesame Street. It was very helpful.
