Welcome to the first issue Family Network on Disabilities weekly e-newsletter, "News from the Heart"! Each week we'll focus on a variety of topics and FND happenings. FND's 25th Anniversary FND celebrated its 25th Anniversary on February 5, 2010. The year-long celebration kicked off at Shadow Bay Park in Orlando, Florida on February 21, with a family-friendly event that included a tree-planting. A celebration will take place in a different location in Florida each month through January of 2011. Our next 25th Anniversary Celebration will include a workshop on Collaborative Communication on Friday, March 5 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A Community Outreach session will be held that evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Both of these events will be held in Room 153 at the FDLRS Center, 30 E. Texar Drive, Pensacola. Another day at the park and tree-planting will be held at the Homes Miracle League Park (555 E. 9 Mile Road, Pensacola) on Saturday, March 6 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Additionally, on Friday, March 5, we will be holding a workshop on Collaborative Communication from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm and a Community Outreach from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Room 153 at the FDLRS Center (30 E. Texar Dr, Pensacola). Our friends at Freedom Ride joined us at the Celebration at the Park.
