Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- he is apparently social and loves being the center of attention. See now I don't see this in Trevor. He's withdrawn and likes to be alone when he's here. I can get him to open up but it's not easy. also craves attention and seeks it so it's hard for me to judge this. I think Trev is on the spectrum but then again I also think is. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
The lack of eye contact and simple directions understanding does sound spectrumish to me also.. you were confused about the hand flapping sentence.. is this becaues you didnt observe? or never seen before.. I dont understand. and as usual, it is truly difficult to rate the understanding of our children. Trevor is apparently very bright and social... he made assumptions of expectations before being given Jeanette > > > > > what is trevor's official dx? < > > > > > > ha, he doesn't have one yet. what do you presume it is? > > > > Well, frankly, he sounds spectrum-ish until you get to the end where he is > apparently social and loves being the center of attention. Guest guest
The important thing is that they recognize is problem areas and start giving him the services he needs. Sue
Guest guest
Hi , Trevor sounds a lot like Andy, (except Andy never pointed at Trevors age). I honestly don't know what else to say except that at least they are recognising Trevor has problems/delays and that they are doing something about it. Hang in there hon, Ali
Guest guest
i always find these reports disconcerting to read - so quantitative. i particularily discount stanford-binet results - it just seems to be a screen unsuited to our children. wow - trevor points!! that is a fantastic skill to have when you struggle with a language delay. it can ease frustration so much. rowan never pointed at trevor's age and it was very difficult to teach. he still can't do it spontaneously - only when told to. i think the one huge advantage trevor has is his mum. he is very lucky to have you gina - you are experienced, intelligent, resourceful and dedicated. michelle mg
