I watched the video and read its transcript, and he wasn’t so really misquoted but more taken a little out of context. unfortunately for him the rest of the "context" doesn’t make it any better. The full transcript is:

In the Old Testament, the first-born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest, and with the knowledge they have from faith has been verified by a study by the Virginia Commonwealth University. First abortions of the first pregnancy are much more damaging to the woman than latter abortions. None of these are good for anybody but this organization has had its time. They have failed in their efforts and we need to defund them and not have them receive a dime of public money.â€

Now that being said this guy is still seems like a psycho taking aim at just one of many services PP offers and with the fervor of religious fanaticism he has implicated kids with "handicaps" as being victims of a bad choice by mother. So us moms can have yet more guilt on top of guilt we may already have if we had an abortion before our special needs kids were born. Nice. He claims that what he means is that not only did "the Lord" forewarn us of how sacred the "first born" is, but also that having an abortion messes you up biologically thereby increasing your odds of your child after an abortion being born "handicapped." This guy sounds real scientific, and good job keeping that old separation of church and state thing in mind there Bob!

mother. So us moms can have yet more guilt on top of guilt we may already

have if we had an abortion before our special needs kids were born. Nice.

He claims that what he means is that not only did " the Lord "

forewarn us of how sacred the " first born " is, but also that having

an abortion messes you up biologically thereby increasing your odds of your

child after an abortion being born " handicapped. " This guy sounds

real scientific, and good job keeping that old separation of church and state

thing in mind there Bob!

Actual quote:

The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion who have

handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the

first-born of any, Nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.

There's no doubt Delegate Bob is an idiot, but the quote in the news story is

inaccurate, again, if you can trust the video. When it comes to politicians I

don't trust anything I can see or hear.

Delegate Bob should rethink it. The mother wasn't punished. It

was the child. Nature takes its vengeance? Let's start looking for the person

we can blame for the next disaster. Maybe we can prevent it.

I dont like the word punishment here. Punishment means that you did something wrong and hence something negative is the consequence. Our children did nothing wrong. They are not punished.
