Guest guest
I watched the video and read its transcript, and he wasn’t so really misquoted but more taken a little out of context. unfortunately for him the rest of the "context" doesn’t make it any better. The full transcript is: FULL TRANSCRIPT:Verbatim. The TRT is 2:05: “Thank you very much for coming here today. We are dealing with an attempt to defund, frankly, a malevolent organization. And I say that because you know people by their fruits. In 1960, 65, the out of wed-lock birthrate for blacks was 25 percent. I think it was about 23 percent in 1960 – it was 5 percent for all races. Now it’s 40 percent. It’s 72% for blacks, 51% for Latinas. These are the fruits of planned parenthood. OK. Nothing else. More heartache. More guys who are completely irresponsible and think that women have one function and one function only for a few minutes. OK. But this just isn’t affecting our families, our inner cities, our communities and our state. This poison animates a world-wide population control program that the United States funds and which is unnecessarily making us enemies overseas. We are attacking traditional family structure in a way that no country should be doing. These aren’t my words. Go read a book by Denesh DeSouza. Ok. He’s looking at it from a cultural, historical perspective. This organization should be called Planned Barrenhood cause they have nothing to do with families, they have nothing to do with responsibility. One-fourth of all abortions are done by Planned Parenthood in the United States. Ok. The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion who have handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first-born of any, Nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children. In the Old Testament, the first-born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest, and with the knowledge they have from faith has been verified by a study by the Virginia Commonwealth University. First abortions of the first pregnancy are much more damaging to the woman than latter abortions. None of these are good for anybody but this organization has had its time. They have failed in their efforts and we need to defund them and not have them receive a dime of public money.†Now that being said this guy is still seems like a psycho taking aim at just one of many services PP offers and with the fervor of religious fanaticism he has implicated kids with "handicaps" as being victims of a bad choice by mother. So us moms can have yet more guilt on top of guilt we may already have if we had an abortion before our special needs kids were born. Nice. He claims that what he means is that not only did "the Lord" forewarn us of how sacred the "first born" is, but also that having an abortion messes you up biologically thereby increasing your odds of your child after an abortion being born "handicapped." This guy sounds real scientific, and good job keeping that old separation of church and state thing in mind there Bob! Guest guest
I don't see him being missquoted, he's just ignorant enough to not know how to use his data the correct way. Maybe an abortion is harder on a woman's body when it's her first pregnancy and it could weaken it for subsequent ones. That's all he should he said, the whole bit about Nature's and God's vengeance killed it.Sent from my iPhone I looked this up and found a response from Delegate Bob with a video of the same press conference mentioned above. I don't see him being missquoted, he's just ignorant enough to not know how to use his data the correct way. Maybe an abortion is harder on a woman's body when it's her first pregnancy and it could weaken it for subsequent ones. That's all he should he said, the whole bit about Nature's and God's vengeance killed it.Sent from my iPhone On Feb 24, 2010, at 12:10 PM, "mainshipper34" <ssmoyergate (DOT) net> wrote: I looked this up and found a response from Delegate Bob with a video of the same press conference mentioned above. His choice of words could have been much better but he does seem to have been mis quoted if you can believe the video.see here:http://delegatebob.com/Steve--- In sList , badillo9@... wrote:>> > > > ____________________________________> Sent: 2/23/2010 6:16:56 P.M. Guest guest
"You can fix stupid"Can't stop laughing...Sent from my iPhone From the press story: "declared last week that an increased number of disabled children are a punishment from nature, taking "vengeance" for prior abortions by their mothers." Actual quote: The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion who have handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first-born of any, Nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children. There's no doubt Delegate Bob is an idiot, but the quote in the news story is inaccurate, again, if you can trust the video. When it comes to politicians I don't trust anything I can see or hear. Guest guest
I can't seem to translate his quote to mean anything other than "if you abort -nature's punishment will be disabled children" The sad and frightening part is that there are many who actually believe this stuff. Guest guest
Delegate Bob should rethink it. The mother wasn't punished. It was the child. Nature takes its vengeance? Let's start looking for the person we can blame for the next disaster. Maybe we can prevent it. Sent from my iPhone From the press story: " declared last week that an increased number of disabled children are a punishment from nature, taking " vengeance " for prior abortions by their mothers. " Actual quote: The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion who have handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first-born of any, Nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children. There's no doubt Delegate Bob is an idiot, but the quote in the news story is inaccurate, again, if you can trust the video. When it comes to politicians I don't trust anything I can see or hear. You can't fix stupid. Steve Moyer > > > > > > > > > > ____________________________________ > > From: jgenet@ > > Sent: 2/23/2010 6:16:56 P.M. Guest guest
I dont like the word punishment here. Punishment means that you did something wrong and hence something negative is the consequence. Our children did nothing wrong. They are not punished.
