Guest guest
HI all. Sorry I've been so quiet this last week. It was far too nice out to be home. Heh. I've taken yesterday and today off though from my days at my mom's to just catch up on some things here and relax. I'm gonna have a really busy weekend so I figure I'm gonna need my sleep now. I was working on my site and added a weight loss chart to the main page at www.tinymangraphics.com/wls where you can see my weekly progress. I've also done a little spell checking here and there. That's all...I'll talk to ya later 06.14.01 - 06.20.01. Wow, what a long week. Sorry I haven't been keeping up on my journal this week but I've been to my mom's every single day for the last week practically, swimming and getting lots of exercise. Yay me, eh? I'm down another 8 pounds this week for a total of 64 pounds in 5 weeks since my surgery. I'm feeling really great, although at 560 pounds I''m still and huge and my back still hurts when I walk or stand for more than a few minutes...Just not as much as it did. My tentative goals are that I'd like to be down 75 pounds by the 2 month mark and if I'm down at least 100 pounds by the 3 month mark I'll be extremely pleased! I'm trying hard not to set my goals TOO high to prevent disappoinment in case of a plateau or something. I'm loving being able to eat real foods again. I'm not eating too bad...But I did discover some really good snack foods. BBQ flavored soy nuts. They look like peanuts and taste like a cross between CornNuts and Sunflower seeds. Hehe. I also have been eating some Baked Lays potato chips when I'm really feeling the need to crunch. Surprisingly they aren't that bad for you. I think the problem would come when I would eat a whole bag of chips in one sitting. Heh. That's not a problem anymore. I can eat about 1/2 to 1 serving now and be full. The good thing is I don't have to feel guilty about it. I'm really getting sick of Crystal Light though. Oh, been loving beef jerky though! It's quick and convienient and a great source of protein. Oh, those soy nuts are also high in protein. 10g of protein for a 1/4 cup...Which I can eat pretty easily. So if I haven't gotten enough protein in I just down some soy nuts. Not much else has been happening. 1 thing though, I'm going to a picnic for Joe and 's work this weekend. There is no way in hell I would have wanted to go before surgery. Hehe. I want to meet these people that keeps bragging about me to. *smiles* After the picnic we're going to my mom's house for a cookout or something. My mom's sister is coming up from Florida so I'll be seeing my little cousin. I think my brother and his wife and new baby will be coming up for the day as well. It should be a fun day. I'm thinking of registering a new domain name and getting a dedicated site for my weight loss pages. I'm thinking of 'Reconstructing.com'? How does that sound? Hehe. My online presence has been really lacking as of late and that kinda bothers me, but I can't really feel too bad about that when I'm doing something for my health, can I? During the day when I'm not swimming I'm pretty bored so I'm starting to do more reading and I'm going to start doing research and learning some new technology stuff so that I'm more marketable next year when I've lost the weight and I get off disability. Right now I'm learning C++. I figure if I have more programming skill and my design/art/graphics skills I'll be a real commodity somewhere. Heh. I read a book last week though that was wonderful. It's called 'Choke' by Chuck Palaniuk. He's the author who wrote 'Fight Club' which the movie was based on. He's a fantastic author. The book is very sexual and warped, but written with such style. Man, he inspires me to want to write a book. If you want a good read, pick it up. So far I've read 3 of his 4 books and afterwards all I can think is " Wow, that was intense. " I've never gotten the feelings from reading that he invokes. Well, I'm getting a little wordy myself so I'm going to post this update to the mailing list then I'm gonna read some more of my C++ book. Fun stuff, eh? --
