Guest guest
Hi a, Sorry to hear about the miscarriages you have had. The surgeon that treated my Asherman's is Dr. Leyland, in Toronto (). It was about 8 weeks to wait for a consultation and about 8 weeks to wait for surgery (yes due to waiting to get time in an OR). Dr. Leyland seemed to be recognized as the expert around here on Ashermans (he does a lot of hysterocopies and operates on approx 2-3 Ashermans patients a month). I don't think too many doctors in Canada will do a hysteroscopy in their office. I'm not expert on fertility issues, but hopefully you don't have ashermans (based on the results of your other tests, still having your period and good lining) although I'm sure you are at that point of just wanting someone to tell you what is wrong (I know it took over a year for my doctor to finally agree that something may be wrong and start testing, then waited another 4 months for the referral and then the wait time for Dr. Leyland). Good Luck, Deanna
Guest guest
Hi a, I would think if Dr. Leyland did a laproscope in June to check for endometritosis he would have told you if you he saw some scarring and signs of Ashermans (I actually had my surgery with Dr Leyland in June as well). You probably have already been checked for this, but a friend of mine had 3 miscarriages before they realized that she didn't produce enough progesterone so they gave her the progesterone suppositories right after ovulation and she carried successfully to term. As for other ideas on the multiple miscarriages, maybe other members (Gwen?) may be able to shed more light on your situation. Has any doctor actually diagnosed you with Ashermans? I did look at going to the U.S. and the cost ranged widely depending on the doctor, but it wasn't cheap. But that wasn't my main consideration. I spoke with 4 different OB's/RE's and they all said Dr. Leyland was very skilled/experienced with treating ashermans and I would be crazy to go somewhere else when I had someone so good right here. Did you get pregnant with the IUI? If so, is there a reason they are not trying that again vs IVF? Can I ask what clinic you are having the fertility treatment done at (we are currently TTC but not having any luck and I go back to see my OB this week - I think it is time to get aggressive - of course this will probably mean being referred to someone else and waiting a few more cycles especially since most offices are probably closed over xmas). Sorry, not sure if I helped at all, Cheers, Deanna
