Guest guest
Hi , I missed a line in your post about something at a standstill. If the TSH is at a standstill, that's normal because it can take many months to start rising after it's been suppressed. Some doctors don't realize this and mistakenly think patients are still hyper. If this is what's at a standstill, he may be thinking you are still hyper. When you're on ATDs the FT4 test is a better guideline. Also, Tapazole is reported to have a protect effect on the eyes so he may have been thinking that if you're hyper this would help. There are two types of eye disease: 1) a congestive infiltration (caused by autoimmunity) that runs a separate course from the thyroid disorder and 2) a spastic type of eye disorder that is related to excess thyroid hormone. This latter one is the most common cause of symptoms, and these symptoms resolve as your thyroid levels move into the normal range. An ophthalmologist can measure your eyes and tell if you have any signs of the congestive disorder and he can give you some suggestions to help with your symptoms.
