Guest guest
Hello . I am so glad that Sophie is sleeping so well! That is great! I don't know how these babies do it....could you imagine sleeping with that thing on your head?? How did her 1 week check go? Today is 4 weeks for Jake!! His eye got a little puffy before too and they had to shave out some of the foam from the front and this morning it looks like that is happening again, so I may have to call and get him in early. I only bring him in every 2 weeks. I love my ped, he is really great! However, he and I have not agreed on everything with this helmet. He was monitoring Jake's plagio and tort closely, but kept saying that it was improving and would round out. Because I like him and trust him so much I completely believed him. But and I thought Jake's head was getting worse and then I read an article (in the Muskegon paper actually) about a family who had dealt with the same thing and had treated their son with the helmet. After I read that article I called my ped and requested a referral to a ped craniofacial surgeon. He gave it to me. The craniofacial surgeon said that Jake had severe plagio and recommended the helmet ASAP. Then we went to MFB and they also said severe and recommended the helmet! So, we got the helmet just before Jake was 9 months. At his 9 month well baby check the ped made some comments about how he didn't think it was necessary, etc... I was really upset and told him so! I told him that he should have gave me a referral sooner, etc.... It's fine now, he respects our decision and is somewhat supportive. Isn't Dr. Foody in GR? I have heard of him. I also look forward to the day when I can cuddle with my baby without a helmet!!! Yes, Jake's pictures are in the Jake R file. Are there pictures of Sophie? Take care! I hope that you start to see results soon!!!! > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > > Thank you so much for all your encouragement and support! > > We > > > > went > > > > > to > > > > > > Sophie's appt at 8 am today and she now has her pretty > > > > > StarBand!!!
