Guest guest
I have to weigh in here. I believe that without Autism Speaks, we would be so far from the spotlight, you'd need a magnifying glass. Do I agree with the salaries that some of these people make? No. Do I think they're responsible for getting autism to be the most talked about disorder these days? Yes (and Dan Marino, for that matter). They raise awareness like no one else; they get things done at the legislative level like no one else. They advocate, they advertise, they research. That video they made, with the " evil, sinister voice " that was portraying autism....powerful. The 100 day Kit they put together, free of charge, I have one...and I used it! Am I skeptical about all of their dealings? Yeah, a little...but the good outweighs the bad. And the more they can do to continue to research and raise awareness, I'm all for. If you don't like them, then support another charity...don't tell others not to walk or support...it's insulting. By the way, I don't know who started this chain, but this post is not pointed to any particular person. > > > > I will support it and keep supporting it. Guest guest
I don't think anyone here has told others not to support, or support the walk. Many people have given their personal opinions, and reasons why they are going to support the walk or not. It is their choice to support the cause .We don't all have to agree, but aleast respect each others opinions Subject: Re: Should you support the upcoming Autism Speaks "Walk" events in South Florida and elsewhereTo: sList Date: Monday, February 15, 2010, 1:55 PM I have to weigh in here.
