How does your child have such a high Matrix in the first place if he is in regular ed. with no shadow? That would be my first question, which you don't have to answer because there are many areas of the Matrix but the services the child needs would place him higher.

It is not likely you will be able to raise that number without your son having some significant issues that would qualify him. It's actually fraudulent to try to increase a Matrix score, especially when you first said he's in regular ed. with no shadow/paraprofessional/one-to-one, so be careful, especially when you post it.

My son is in a regular class in public school he doesnt have shadow. Right now his McKay number is 253. I would like to know how I can put the McKay scholarship higher because he's gonna start middle school in August and I would like a private school for him. I live inPembroke Pines, if somebody could please help me with the IEP before March 24th. I am very worried about that because this is a big transition from elementary school to middle school and I really don't want him to go to public school. I know you guys can understand my situation because you've been through this before. Thanks in advance. If your son has had any changes, not met goals, is transitioning to middle school... you need to think of what services/supports may help meet his needs. A child's needs change and if something is not working at school, that needs to change as well. Disabled children are to be taught in the least restrictive environment given the proper supports and accommodations as per IDEIA.Subject: Re: Private SchoolsTo: sList Date: Sunday, March 14, 2010, 1:22 PM

When I said that I wanted to know about raising the Matrix was only because I want to make sure my son receives the appropriate education, because sometimes the schools dont want to aprove. I am not trying to do anything wrong, I am only trying to ask for help. But thank you anyway
