Guest guest
I have a question for anyone with any thoughts. For the newer members, I have had AS since the birth of my daughter in Sept of 2000. My diagnosis was confirmed November 2001. It was due to a D & C one month postpartum for the removal of retained placenta. I had no bleeding whatsoever until Feb of 2002. It was presumed that the hsg done in November broke some scar tissue free and created a small opening for my period to escape. Yet, for me a period was only one small trace of brownish/pink blood on one wipe. This happened regularly every 28 to 32 days through the month of August. Then nothing for September or the beginning of October (which was the time of the cycle). Anyway, I visited a RE from the 'B'-list earlier this month and discussed my situation. He felt since I have now decided not to have more children and no pain there was no reason to do corrective surgery. I asked what his thoughts were on why I no longer have any bleeding and he agreed I had probably scarred closed again. I also asked him for a script for birth control pills, even though I know it is known to thin the lining, but I wanted to be sure I didn't get pregnant since that would be detrimental to my health at this point. I asked if he thought this meant I could assume I would have no chance of having anymore periods since it thins the lining. And, he agreed. Well, guess what, I was shocked to see last Friday a REAL period. I couldn't believe my eyes. My first month on the pill and I had an honest to goodness period. The kind that required a tampon, not just a mini pad!!! It was a great feeling, but I am so confused. I am going to call the doctors office tomorrow and ask their thoughts. I'm thinking about requesting a sonohystogram and/or a vaginal ultrasound to get a better look again as it seems like some things must have changed since the last testing was done. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be happening at this point? It seems like the hormones have actually helped in my case? S
