Guest guest
I have never been very good at pumping but here are some tips for milk supply: Eat a healthy balanced diet as well as you can. Drink at least 64 oz of water every day. (For proper hydration people should drink 1/2 oz. of water per pound they weigh. Ex. a 200 lb person needs 100 oz. of water per day.) Get extra potassium (potatoes, oranges, spinach, cantaloupe, and/or tablets) Take a tablespoon of Brewer's Yeast *flakes* every day (in orange juice) Increase *frequency* of feedings or pumping, not duration. If you want to use herbs, I suggest buying nettle (urtica urens), and blessed thistle (carduus benedictus). Stress can be a big factor. Keep in mind how important relaxation is to let down reflex. Essential oils can be used for tension, as well as a warm bath, *a* glass of wine, certain music, or whatever helps you let go of the tension. To use the oils put some of the chosen scent in some oil base (almond, apricot or mineral oil) and then use the mixed massage oil on the skin. (Tangerine is my favorite, and great for relaxing!) I hope this helps! Alana Alana Millman Wife to J.P.
