I was really disappointed to discover that my first nonLID meal had very little flavor. For me this lasted about 2 weeks. Guest guest
Post TT, RAI & Thyroid Hormones > I had RAI, 103 Mci, on Sept 23. I felt worse the 2 1/2 weeks after the RAI than I did after surgery and during the LID prep for the treatment. Absolutely NO energy and very depressed. Perfectly normal! Just when we think " it's all over, now I'll start to feel better " -- we still haven't hit bottom. It takes a while to climb out of the hypo-pit. It takes a while after putting on the hypo-brakes (starting meds) for them to take effect, meanwhile we continue to roll down a bit more! Bummer. > I started taking 150mg of Levoxyl on Sept 24 and my Endo also prescribed a half tab of Synthroid for several weeks to help " jump start " things, as she put it. > Are you sure it was *Synthroid* in addition to the Levoxyl? They are the same active ingredient (T4). Perhaps you meant *Cytomel*, which is a faster acting but shorter duration thyroid hormone (T3). It's common to take some for a while in addition to T4 after being hypo for scan or treatment. You might want to doublecheck just what you are taking (name and dose). Best wishes. bj

Did you have a problem with your weight after surgery and RAI? Someone wrote me that she heard that some folks said that after about 6 or 8 weeks, their weight just fell off. I'm trying not to obsess about this and just focus on eating balanced meals, cutting the fat and exercising and let my body do what ever it's going to do. But...I would like to know if the Lyvoxl will help restore some semblance of metabolism.
