Vent all you want ! All I can say is I am happy that I

don't live near my families. Although sometimes I wish I had

more time w/ my MIL then my own mom. I can't stand being around

my family at all. And none of them even know that I am still

bfing. They think that I quit back at christmas, hello baby was

only five months old and they thought that it was great that I

quit. My IL's know that I am still nursing and that I plan to

for awhile and they are so supportive :) ugh, anyway.....

, My Mil is the same way, so many times she comes over just when i

got both the younger kids asleep, the older ones will be at school, so it

would be perfect for me to either get on the computer, or take a nap. She

comes over knowing it is nap time(she lives right next door) She would

knock on the door, and I would answer all tired acting, she would say

whatcha doing, I would tell her taking a nap. Would she get the hint hell

no, she would jsut come in and visit, and leave right before the little ones

wake up. and some days I look so forward to taking alittle nap(especially

becasue my kids get up at 5 to 6 in the morning, and my baby dont go to

sleep some nights until 11, last night it was midnight. She sleeps late,

but the older kids gt up early. they dont need me to gt up, but they start

argueing about something , and then I am up anyway, and then I ahve a hard

time going back to sleep. anyway i know how you feel.

,

I am so with you on the venting thing! My in-laws just left Monday from a

five day visit to meet their new grandson and DH's graduation. It was a

nightmare! I usually get along with them pretty well, but now that Blake is

here they really got on my nerves! Blake was teething pretty bad and MIL

would give him Tylenol and Orajel without asking me first. FIL thought he

was constantly starving b/c he sucks his thumb when he's tired and was

chewing his fists from his teeth, but to FIL if there was a finger of thumb

in Blake's mouth he was hungry. Oh and I had to hear about how much happier

Blake will be when he can have cereal or food so he won't be hungry all the

time. AAAHHHH!!! Blake goes 10-11 hours at night without eating and only

nurses every 2 1/2 to 5 hours during the day. Not to mention he is 12 weeks

and weighs over 15 pounds. It's obvious he is not starving!

Now I'm venting.

Only one month, I've been getting it since 2 weeks!!! I just tell them it's

b/c I'm breastfeeding Blake. MIL didn't bf so she knows nothing about it.

It gives me an excuse to shut her up with.

When my twins were three weeks old my MIL told me that my milk wan't rich

enough becuase the girls weren't sleeping through the night yet. Thankfully

I was pretty informed as a new mom, and didn't listen to her. She was one

that didn't breastfeed either. And every once in a while she pipes up with

stories about babies who starved to death becuase they weren't breastfed.

I just had to jump in here!! I have a MIL that I don't really get along

with - it's a long story so I won't get into it. But basically she is nice

to my face and " sugar coats " everything. Anyways, she didn't nurse her

son - my hubby. Because I am nursing it seems like she's always trying to

give me some medical excuse for not bfing him. One day we were talking

about bfing and she told me that she had no milk and that she tried nursing

him on the first day but her milk never came in but that her legs were

awfully swollen. She then says to me " my milk must have gone into my legs. "

I couldn't believe that she even said that. Anyways I couldn't even respond

to that because it's so idiotic!! Anyways when we go to leave and she walks

us to the door she says this again about why she couldn't bf him. After she

said this again I couldn't help myself so I said " Well I guess you should

have tried nursing with your toes " I don't think she knew what to think -

if I was being serious or not - so I didn't laugh I just pretended like what

I said was totally logical.

Anyways, I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth about my MIL.

I just had to laugh when I read this even though I know it is not funny!

My family knows better than to say anything about feeding habits right

now!
