Guest guest
Amy, Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment for you. If you are interested there is a lot of information on my website about nursing a toddler. Welcome to the list, BTW! Wendi http://www.lactivist.com breastfeeding info & resources I'm New Here I just found this group. I wanted to introduce myself. I am Amy (23), married to (26 next month) and mom to the wonderful born 8/24/99. I have breastfeed her since birth and plan to keep it up for I don't know how long but I do know at least a year. My husband was very persistant on the fact that I should breastfeed our child. He and his siblings were breastfed until about age 3 and his mother was involved in LLL. My family was not into breastfeeding. My mom says she tried it out but didn't do it for long. My sisters did not breastfeed. My sil did but not for a long time. Anyway, I told my husband that I would give it shot but don't expect me to do it for too long. In my head I was thinking a few days/weeks and that's it. and I had a bumpy start. I was sore in the beginning and did not enjoy it. If it wasn't for my undying support of my husband, my daughter would be on formula right now. In the beginning, I would cry just thinking of breastfeeding her. Thank god I didn't have any real nipple damage. He would let me squeeze the heck out of his hand as she latched on. Well after a little lanolin on my nipples, the pain went away and it has been a great breastfeeding relationship since. Here we are, just past the 10 month mark and going strong. I am very happy and proud that we have made it this far. Thanks! I look foward to getting involved with this board! Guest guest
.. He would let me squeeze the > heck out of his hand as she latched on. > Amy Welcome Amy! Sounds like a fantastic husband you have there I also had the same sentiments as you to begin with as well as a rocky start, goodness knows what made me continue, but what ever it was Im glad cos I fed Hanna to just past 18 months (she is 28 months now). I am also breastfeeding my second daughter Kyra and intend to do it longer than the first. She is a star feeder as from day2 till day11 she was in ICU and never breast-fed. She had a great latch days 1 and 2 so I knew that our relationship would be great when it resumed. She is 11 weeks now and doing well. Guest guest
Nice to *meet* you!! I am , a 28-year-old stay-at-home-mom of two boys, is 2 and is 7 months. I am married almost 5 years now, to Demetrios. I think it's so wonderful that your dh is so supportive. My dh has always been supportive too. It really does help! is exclusively breastfed and recently we started rice cereal, however that isn't going well and so we have stopped all together. I plan to give him some fresh squash later today. He has tried fresh bananas and apples. The apples didn't go too well and so we won't be having those again for a while. My older son was breastfed for 6 months. I would have gone longer if it weren't for the lack of support and inexperience. My MIL breastfed and is very supportive but she doesn't understand the idea of extended breastfeeding. My mother did not breastfeed at all but she is extremely supportive. She was told formula is better and given a shot to dry her milk up when my brother and I were born. I wasn't tolerating any formula so she fed me skim milk!!! Yes, I have excema and I blame her everyday! lol! ~ M. ~ BestFedBaby@... Guest guest
Hi Ed. What is your insurance? If it's Blue Sheild, Dr. Machado is doing my surgery at Mercy San on May 25th. I'm impressed with her and her staff. And I had no problem getting approved by Blue Shield...good luck to you. D
Guest guest
I would definitely call your doc and tell him of your troubles...do not wait for the next appointment. Hope all goes well...please let us know....sherri I'm New Here Hi all! I just found this forum as I was searching for answers to my problem. Hopefully someone here can offer some insight. I had GBS almost 5 weeks ago. I have yet to lose even 20 lbs! I'm having difficulty eating solid foods and I'm exceptionally tired. I went to a support meeting in my area for bariatric patients who are transitioning to solid foods and metioned my problems to the nutritionist( I get a bubbling sensation, then pressure, feeling like the food is filling up in my chest. It's quite uncomfortable). All I got in return was " everyone's different " . I'm making a concerted effort to do some exercise, but I collapse for the rest of the day afterwards in exhaustion. I know I'm not getting many calories, and I have to work hard to get even 32oz of fluid in. Has anyone else dealt with these problems?
